A 77-year-old child-molesting priest can be released on bond but must be under house arrest, wear an electronic monitor and be supervised by a friend so he isn't alone with children, a federal magistrate judge ruled Tuesday.

The Rev. Donald McGuire was convicted last year in Wisconsin of molesting two boys and was accused last week of molesting two more.

But Magistrate Judge Arlander Keys believed the stringent conditions set for McGuire will suffice, despite an argument by a federal prosecutor that he is a danger to the community.

Before he can be released to live in an Oak Lawn home, McGuire will remain in custody while he is transported to Wisconsin, where he is still ordered detained for allegedly violating his probation in that case.
