YAKIMA, WASH. -- Another claim of sexual abuse by a member of the Catholic Diocese of Yakima has been reported. The report was filed in early may and Thursday, the yakima woman claiming sexual abuse gave permission for her story to be made known.

The Diocese of Yakima received a report of sexual abuse that happened in the late 1980's. The woman says Father Frank Duffy touched her inappropriately.

The victim was an adult at the time of the abuse. She, along with the help of her family, made the report in early May following reports of lawsuits claiming abuse by Father Duffy in parishes in the Portland Archdiocese.

The Yakima Diocese hasn't heard any other complaints of abuse by Duffy during his time in Yakima.

Duffy was an associate pastor to Saint Joseph Parish in Yakima back in 1970. He also spent time providing Hispanic Ministry at Saint Peter the Apostle Parish in Cowiche from 1979 to 1989.

He later moved to a Jesuit community in Portland, and eventually Spokane. Duffy died in 1992.

If you want to make a report regarding sexual abuse by someone within the Yakima Diocese, you're encouraged to call the abuse hotline at 1-888-276-4490.

Any reports regarding sexual abuse by a Jesuit may be made by calling the Oregon Province's Assistant for Pastoral Response at (509) 939-9140.
