Rapist Pastor Faces 10 Years in Prison

October 26, 2008

A Johannesburg pastor accused of the rape and indecent assault of his secretaries is facing a possible 10 years in prison after being convicted of two counts of rape.

Pastor Errol Jacobs, a pastor at the Family Worship Centre in Hurst Hill, will know his fate next month when Magistrate Naomi Manaka will hand down his sentence.

Jacobs appeared before the Johannesburg Commercial Crimes court on Friday where his lawyers were mitigating for a lesser sentence before Manaka.

He was described as a hard working man of God who was always a calm person and had never hurt anyone.

Manaka dismissed this as an exaggerated statement.
