CHICAGO (AP) - The Archdiocese of Chicago has agreed to pay nearly $1.4 million to a man who claims he was sexually abused as a boy by a Catholic priest.

Attorney Jeff Anderson, who represents the alleged victim, announced the settlement today.

Anderson also released documents he says show the archdiocese was aware of allegations against the Rev. Chester Przybylo (PREEZ'-buh-lo), who worked in the archdiocese 15 years.

The priest is no longer affiliated with the archdiocese, which had no immediate comment. He's now a pastor at an independent church in Winfield.

The priest has filed a slander suit against his accuser, the accuser's attorneys and two organizations involved in priest abuse cases.
