NORWICH, Conn. - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich has settled a lawsuit filed by a woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by a priest when she was a girl, but another person has stepped forward with allegations against another priest.

The woman alleges the late Rev. Thomas Shea assaulted her at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Gales Ferry beginning when she was 10 years old. Several other women have made similar allegations against Shea.

Details of the settlement were not released Thursday.

A Pawcatuck man has filed a new lawsuit against the diocese, claiming he was sexually abused by the Rev. Paul Hebert when he attended St. Michael's School. The diocese settled another lawsuit alleging sexual abuse by Hebert for $170,000 last year.

Hebert could not be reached for comment.
