|Priest Begins 9-day Walk to Dublin
December 29, 2008
A priest has set off on a walk from Cork to Dublin.
Fr Michael Mernagh is undertaking the hike as an act of atonement for all victims of child sexual abuse.
Fr Mernagh began his journey at 9am this morning at the Cathedral in Cork, and is due to arrive at the Pro Cathedral in Dublin in nine day's time - on the feast of the epiphany.
He said he was motivated to undertake the task after hearing of alleged abuse in Cloyne in Co Cork.
