Saturday, Patrick Jerome Whitehead was arrested and charged with sexual abuse by force and sodomy. The Huffman High School Band Director has reportedly been placed on administrative leave following an incident involving a Huffman student.

Whitehead is also a Minister of Music at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham.

Sunday on the church's 136th anniversary, Pastor Arthur Price Jr. Said they were shocked by the allegations.

"Right now we are praying for Mr. Whitehead and his family. We are praying for the other families involved. We're not trying to make a rush to judgment. I understand the police will make other determinations later on in the week and we just want to wait and see what they say. We have faith in our legal system that they will resolve this manner in a just way," said Rev. Arthur Price Jr.

According to Jefferson County Jail Records: Patrick Jerome Whitehead was released on a $75,000 bond.
