	Monterey Diocese Revokes Priest's Duties Fox 35 January 24, 2010 http://www.kcba.com/Global/story.asp?S=11872640 SALINAS, Calif. - The Diocese of Monterey revoked the faculties of a priest serving in the area after allegations of misconduct. Father Ron Wiecek was recently recalled to his priest's order in Ohio, according to diocesan spokesperson Warren Hoy, after allegations surfaced of an incident some 30 years ago of Wiecek attempting to pick up a gay man. Hoy said the diocese had not been informed of the allegation before allowing Wiecek to serve in the area, and chose to take action because Wiecek had not been forthcoming with the allegation. Wiecek had served in the diocese as a visiting priest for several years, most recently as part of the in-residence staff at Salinas' Sacred Heart. The diocese has not started a formal inquiry; Hoy adds the allegation has never been proved true.
