ST. LOUIS – KMOX - Former priest and convicted child molester Gary Wolken makes his case Wednesday for early parole before the Missouri Probation and Parole Board — meeting in Bonne Terre.

In 2003, Wolken was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for child sexual abuse. At the time, he was a priest at Our Lady of Sorrows in south St. Louis.

Barbara Dorris with the Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests is urging the Parole Board “to have Wolken serve the rest of his sentence.”

“He’s been in prison for seven years and he has eight more to go,” said Dorris. “We feel he should serve every day of his sentence.”

“This is a young, charismatic, shrewd and well-educated predator. We feel to release him would place children in danger,” Dorris tells KMOX.

A decision by the Parole Board could come anytime in the next four to six weeks.
