GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Diocese of Green Bay has removed a Fox Valley area priest from active duty following what officials call a credible allegation of abuse of a minor.

WLUK-TV reports Sunday that the diocese says Father Paul Radetski has been removed from St. John's, St. Mary's and St. Patrick's parishes in Menasha.

A news release on Sunday says he has been placed on administrative leave. A temporary administrator will be appointed for the parishes.

The diocese says the alleged abuse happened many years ago in another part of the diocese. It also says Radetski denies the allegation.

Bishop David Ricken says it is a "sad day" and says the diocese is committed to reaching out the victim and the community. The diocese says civil authorities have been notified.
