Several men picketed outside St. Philamena's Church in Livingston during Sunday Mass today, claiming they were sexually abused by the church's pastor, the Rev. John Laferrera. The victims are also outraged the Archdiocese has done nothing to have Laferrera removed.

Ernest Fabregas says he was abused by Laferrera when he was the priest at the Immaculate Conception church in Newark. He presented his accusations to the Archdiocese in 2009, and a spokesman for the Archdiocese and Laferrera says the claims were found to be unsubstantiated. He and three other victims have since filed a civil suit against the Archdiocese and Laferrera.

"The main thing is we want him out of the church," said Samuel Rivera, who claims he and his brother Daniel were also abused by Laferrera. "We want him defrocked so he won't go around and abuse anymore kids."
