Montrose, PA (WBNG Binghamton) A priest who sexually abused a teenager boy is sentenced to at least six months in prison.

A Susquehanna County judge sentenced Greek Orthodox priest Father Phillip Ferrara to six months to 2 years in state prison and a $750 fine.

Before sentencing today, Ferrara spoke before the judge in court. He apologized to the judge, as well as the Susquehanna County District Attorney, and the people of the county that he served.

He did not, however, offer a direct apology to the young boy involved in the investigation.

Police say several incidents took place last year and earlier this year, when he forced a 14 year-old boy to inappropriately touch him.

An investigation revealed the priest forced the boy to massage him with oil, and had indecent contact with him at a retreat center on Lake O Meadows Road.

Ferrara said to the judge today that a medical condition involving his prostate drove him to engage in these acts with the boy.

The boy reportedly told his mother about the sexual contact, who then reported it to police.

Ferrara was charged in March of this year after he turned himself into State Police.
