The sex abuse case against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena has dozens of new plaintiffs Wednesday.

44 new people have now joined the lawsuit first filed in September. They claim the Diocese of Helena is responsible for sexual abuse they suffered during the 50's, 60's and 70's.

The total number of plaintiffs is now 117.

Along with the new plaintiffs, Wednesday’s amended lawsuit lists three priests as alleged abusers.

A spokesperson for the diocese says she hasn't seen the new lawsuit, but knows those three priests have passed away. Her response to the suit in September claimed the priests were Jesuits and were not linked to the diocese.
