Attorney Adam Horowitz is filing a lawsuit today against the Catholic Diocese of Orlando for the sexual abuse of a teenager by by Father William Authenreith in 1978.

According to the Complaint:

In approximately 1978, St. Mary's Priest William Authenreith molested John Doe, a 14-year old parishioner and altar boy at the church.

John Doe has been an active military member for over 30 years. The Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act prevents the statute of limitation from running on this claim as long as John Doe is an active member of the military.

Prior to Father Authenreith's sexual abuse of John Doe, the Diocese of Orlando received a report accusing Father Authenreith of sexually abusing a child while serving as priest at All Souls Catholic Church in Sanford, Florida.

Despite knowledge of these accusations, the Diocese of Orlando did nothing to prevent Father Authenreith from sexually abusing children, nor did they attempt to warn parishioners or other boys whom the Diocese placed in contact with Father Authenreith.
