Accused Priest Dies in Texas

A retired priest who had been tried -- but never convicted -- on a charge of indecency with a minor has died.

Paul Clogan was born in Massachusetts, lived in Texas with a family for years and then became an ordained priest in Maine in 1999.

He spent a year and a half in the Portland Diocese before returning to texas.

That's where charges were brought against him.

He was tried in 2008, but that ended in a mistrial. A second trial was scheduled for March of 2009 but was severely delayed and never occurred.
