Touting “great overnight accommodations” and a “pet friendly” atmosphere, San Damiano Shrine in southern Illinois is now running ads in the St. Louis Review, the archdiocesan newspaper. The shrine is run by Robert Vonnahmen, a priest defrocked by the Vatican for sexually abusing several Belleville area children.
NAME DROPPING
Rick Desloge, son of the late KMOX and St. Louis Business Journal’s Rick Desloge, has teamed up with the Education Theatre Association, while touring in the musical, “Wicked.” At 7 p.m., Nov. 11 at Parkway Central High, he will be featured with his talented g.f. Cassie Okenka, in a one-night benefit for EdTA. It will be followed by a reception. The hall is the newest student housing facility at 3227 Locust. A reception will follow. Robert May is a long-time SLU trustee and retired vice-chairman and general counsel of Laser Vision Centers and later TLC Vision. (The two companies merged.) He’s also former board chairman of Glen Echo C.C.
