Supreme Court of Canada Dismisses Catholic Churchís Appeal in Mount Cashel Case

In July, the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal found the Roman Catholic Episcopal Corporation of St. Johnís has a responsibility to victims of abuse at the orphanage. The archdiocese appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada. On Thursday, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal with costs.

The case involves four survivors who had first launched their claim for damages in 1999.
