The former pastor of St. James Catholic Church in White Lake pleaded guilty to one charge of first degree sexual assault against a young boy Monday.
Rev. David Boyea, 37, made his plea in a plea bargain in which several other sexual assault charges were dropped. He will be sentenced Aug. 28.
The charges, issued in March, stem from incidents involving young boys over the past five years. He had also worked at St. Stanislaus Church in Langlade.
A pre-sentence investigation is underway. The charges dismissed included two counts of second degree sexual assault and other less serious charges.
