Wash. — A suspended Catholic priest accused of molesting teenage boys in Spokane has been charged with a second felony count of third-degree statuatory rape.

Ronald Lane Fontenot, 40, also was charged Monday with two additional misdemeanor counts in Spokane County Superior Court.

He is now charged with two felonies and five misdemeanors and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Judge Harold Clarke agreed Monday to allow Fontenot to go to a treatment facility run by a Catholic order in Cherry Valley, Calif., near San Diego, while he awaits trial.

Fontenot, who was suspended by the Diocese of Lafayette, La. in 1983 amid allegations that he molested boys there, worked as a counselor at a Deaconess Medical Center Treatment facility for adolesent drug and alcohol abusers.
