The Rev. Roger J. Trott, a Roman Catholic priest, was sentenced to five years' probation and fined $10,000 after pleading guilty to corrupting the morals of a minor for "sexual gratification."

Common Pleas Judge Daniel Ackerman imposed the sentence Thursday after accepting a plea bargain agreement that requires psychiatric treatment for the priest.

Trott was also forbidden to have unsupervised contact with children or any contact with boys who had complained about the priest's behavior.

The priest said said he "took advantage" of altar boys at the St. John De LaSalle Church in Delmont, where he was pastor.

The guilty plea stemmed from an incident in which he massaged a boy's back, he said, "for my own selfish sexual gratification."

Trott said there were other occasions in which he touched altar boys but the massage incident was "the most serious."
