  Sentence Suspended in Sexual-Abuse Case

Washington Times
August 14, 1993

A Roman Catholic priest who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy in his parish was placed on probation for five years.

The Rev. Vincent Lipinski received a 4 1/2 year prison sentence that was then suspended by State District Judge Eugenio Mathis of Las Vegas.

The judge said Lipinski, 31, had no criminal record but had traumatized his victim.

Police arrested Lipinski Oct. 3 at his parish home in Questa. Officers had received an emergency call the night before from a boy who said the priest gave him liquor and coerced him to have sex.

Lipinski pleaded guilty in June to criminal sexual penetration by the use of force or coercion, and to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
