	Church Settles in Abuse Case Washington Times September 13, 1993 A $100 million sexual abuse lawsuit filed against the Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore has been settled out of court. A woman who had been molested by former priest Richard Deakin, 38, filed the suit against the Archdiocese of Baltimore, the Capuchin order and church officials. Deakin was convicted in 1990 of sexually abusing the woman when she was a teen-ager.
