  Abuse Victim Sues Archdiocese

Wisconsin State Journal
November 6, 1993

A priest who admitted having sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy in 1987 faced few restraints until he was charged five years later with molesting another boy, court records show.

Peter Burns, who pleaded no contest in 1992 to second-degree sexual assault, served nine months in jail for molesting a 13-year-old boy from his parish.

The boy filed a civil lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Milwaukee claiming church officials knew that Burns was a pedophile but did nothing to prevent him from abusing children.
