Sex Abuser Priest Is Denied Parole

Boston Globe
February 14, 1997

A Roman Catholic priest convicted of sexually assaulting an altar boy has been denied parole based on his poor performance in a prison program for sex offenders. The Rev. Leo Shea completed a prison program for sexual offenders but apparently didn't learn much, prison officials said. In a ruling made public Wednesday, a judge denied Shea's request to get out of prison. Shea, 69, will continue to serve a three- to six-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.
