BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- Monsignor Gregory M. Smith of Sacred Heart University has been accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing a Monroe woman in the 1960s, when she was a teenager.

Bridgeport lawyer T. Paul Tremont claimed the woman was sexually abused by Smith on numerous occasions while he was an assistant pastor at St. Theresa's Church in Trumbull. Tremont represents 28 other people who claim they were sexually abused by priests in the diocese.
