The Rev. Thomas E. Neary, 83, of Syracuse, died Monday at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse, he attended Solvay High School, Cazenovia Junior College, Syracuse University, St. Andrews Seminary and St. Bernard's Seminary. He was a Roman Catholic priest with the Diocese of Syracuse and served as an associate priest at St. Michael's on Onondaga Hill and St. Mary's in Skaneateles. He served as pastor at Our Lady Rosary in Hannibal, St. Patrick's in Jordan and Most Holy Rosary in Syracuse, from which he retired. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a chaplain with various fire departments. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors: A sister, Mary Neary of Camillus; two brothers, John R. of Syracuse and Joseph of Fayetteville. Services: 7 p.m. Friday (vigil service) and 10:30 a.m. Saturday (funeral Mass) in St. Cecilia's Church. Burial, St. James Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 6 p.m. Friday in the church, 1001 Woods Road, Solvay. Tindall Funeral Home, Syracuse, has arrangements. Due to incorrect information provided to The Syracuse Newspapers, Wednesday's obituary for the Rev. Thomas E. Neary, 83, of Syracuse, who died Monday, indicated that his brother, Joseph, lives in Fayetteville. He has moved to Syracuse. Tindall Funeral Home, Syracuse, has arrangements.
