March 6, 2002

A guidance counselor at School 14 in Troy has been arrested by State Police on charges involving former students at the school and incidents which occurred at a home he owned in Sand Lake.

William J. Heim, 60, of Greenock Road, Delmar, faces felony charges of second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance of a child and a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.

According to State Police, Heim is currently on leave from his position at School 14. Investigators said the Troy school district cooperated in the investigation.

The number of children involved, and the time period, was not released by State Police, who asked anyone with information about Heim to contact them at either the Schodack or New Scotland stations.
