ST. PETER, REV. MONSIGNOR LAWRENCE Msgr. Lawrence St. Peter of Denver. Born in Ashland, ME. Served four years in U.S. Air Force at Lowry. Ordained a Priest in Denver in 1959 from St. Thomas Seminary. Served the diocese in many capacities, including Superintendent of Schools; Vicar of Priests; Pastor of Risen Christ Church, Holy Family Church, Mother of God Church and St. Elizabeths in Buffalo Creek. Upon the death of Archbishop Casey in 1986, served as Administrator of the Denver Archdiocese until the appointment of the new bishop. Served nationally on several boards related to Catholic education. Survived by two sisters, Pauline Willett of Presque Isle, ME and Jean Smith of Centennial; as well as many nieces and nephews throughout the United States, including Scott Morin of Westminster. Mass of the Resurrection, Friday 10 a.m., Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 12130 E. Kentucky Ave. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
