The Archdiocese of St. Louis has removed a priest from a north St. Louis parish, following allegations of inappropriate contact with a child more than 20 years ago.

Father Michael Freymuth most recently served at St. Elizabeth, Mother of John the Baptist church. He also teaches at Cardinal Ritter High School.

The allegations date back to the early 1980's, when Fr. Freymuth served at Saint Joan Of Arc Church. Tim Bartin says when he was 11 years old, the priest gave him wine and inappropriately touched him. Bartin says the incident happened in Fr. Freymuth's bedroom, while they were watching an R-rated movie.

While claiming it has no evidence of sexual abuse, the Archdiocese released a statement saying the priest's behavior was inappropriate. Besides removing Fr. Freymuth from St. Elizabeth, Mother of John the Baptist Church, the Archdiocese statement says the priest will undergo therapy.

Fr. Freymuth has not been charged with a crime, nor has any civil lawsuit been filed against him.
