Reverend Frank O'Hara, passed away Wednesday after 90 years of devoted service to his two great loves - his family and the Catholic Church. Father Frank, as his family called him, served over 60 years of active ministry as a priest in the Diocese of Springfield. He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Griffin in 1941 after completing his education at St.

Louis and Kenrick Preparatory Seminaries. Rev. O'Hara served at many parishes throughout the Diocese of Springfield, including the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, St. Denis, St. Kevin and SS. Peter & Paul. While pastor at SS. Peter & Paul, he ministered at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. During his tenure as a priest, he baptized and married all four of his nieces and nephews and baptized all 13 of their children. Born to Frank and Mary Jane O'Hara on Feb. 19, 1916, Rev. O'Hara was raised in Chicago. He attended St. Bernard and St. Sabina Grade Schools before beginning his discerment at Quigley Preparatory Seminary. Towards the end of his life, he moved to Orland Park, IL to be closer to his family. Father Frank is survived by his sister, Mary Lorrayne (late Joseph) Sullivan; nephews, Joseph (Mary Ellen) and Kevin (Jackie) Sullivan; nieces, Maureen (Ed) Burke and Denise (Mike) Huguelet; 13 great-nieces and nephews; 12 grandnieces and nephews; and many loyal friends and parish- ioners. Lying in state Tuesday, April 25, 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Resurrection 10 a.m., at St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church, 15050 Wolf Road, Orland Park. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Misericordia, 6300 N.
