Fr. Bede Mitchel, OSB, 83, former assistant pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, died Sunday at the abbey infirmary, Subiaco, Ark., ending an extended illness. Funeral service with a Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday at 10 in the abbey church and burial followed in the abbey cemetery. Father Bede was born January 7, 1899, professed vows as a Benedictine monk on September 8, 1919, and was ordained to the priesthood on May 21, 1925. His many assignments as a priest included four years (1969-1973) as assistant pastor at Muenster and two years as assistant at Lindsay
