Sisters of St Joseph in Pittsburgh / Sisters of St Joseph of Baden – CSJ
Known as Sr. Bernardine. Went on leave in 1980, later left the Order. Accused in a 1997 lawsuit of sexually abusing a high school senior in 1972. Veri denied the charge. Complainant stated that when she first came forward in 1994, the Order and diocese asked her to keep silent. They denied this. The lawsuit was dismissed due to the statute of limitations. The Order offered to settle in exchange for a confidentiality agreement; complainant refused. Order paid for therapy.
