Sr. Mary Jeremy. Given name Mary Ann Mattes. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 2/20 under the NY Child Victims Act of physically and sexually abusing a boy who was in second grade at St. Michael's Academy in Flushing 1959-60. Sr. Mary Jeremy allegedly "savagely beat" the boy in front of the class, including kicking his groin. The boy's parents reportedly removed him from the school after several incidents. Mattes died in 2018.
Accused in a lawsuit filed under the Child Victims' Act in 8/19 of repeatedly molesting a child, beginning when he or she was age 6, in 1956-58. The nun was assigned to Ascension parish in North Tonawanda.
