GREEN BAY, Wis. (WTAQ) - The Survivors' Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) is calling for a federal investigation into the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay.

SNAP points to Father John Doerfler, who said that the diocese destroyed documents on some priests, while testifying in the case of convicted pedophile priest John Feeney.

The Diocese's Deacon Tim Reilly responded to the claim.

"We have a standing policy that, if there's any litigation that is pending, we do not destroy any documents," Reilly said.

But SNAP says the diocese may be covering up cases that will come to light in the future.

Todd Merryfield was assaulted by Feeney and finds the document destroying troubling.

"That doesn't make any sense in my world and that would lead most folks to really raise an eyebrow what really is going on here," he said.

Reilly says the process is legal, and calls it "good management."
