TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – SNAP President Barbara Blaine visited Toledo on Tuesday, and called for more public disclosure from the Toledo Catholic Diocese regarding the whereabouts and status of priests who have been accused of sexual abuse.

The support group for victims who have been sexually abused by priests held a rally outside of the Diocese headquarters.

The organization is also calling on officials to warn people in a Perrysburg parish about a former priest. They say he was accused of sexual abuse, and is no longer a priest, but wants to join a Perrysburg parish.

“I think it’s really important that the safety of children come first. And I think that priests and church officials should do everything they can to protect children. And if they know of a sexual predator in their midst, they have a duty to warn parents.” Blaine said about the group’s request.
