WATERFORD, CT (WFSB) –
State police are investigating the discovery of possible child pornography at a Roman Catholic church in Waterford. Connecticut State Police will only say this is a “criminal investigation.”

Sources say a computer was seized Thursday from the Rectory of St. Paul in Chains Church.

Today, communication from the Diocese of Norwich to Eyewitness News says parishioners will get a letter during masses this weekend. No one has been arrested.

In the letter, the Most Reverend Michael R. Cote, Bishop of Norwich said, “I have received and accepted the resignation of your pastor, Father Dennis Carey. His resignation is effective immediately.”
