Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe announced last Thursday that Baudilio Ramos, 59, of Spring Valley has been convicted of sexually abusing a three-year-old boy.

The jury in the trial found Ramos guilty of one county of sexual abuse in the first degree, a felony, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

The incident occurred on September 26, 2011 when the victim’s mother left the young boy in Ramos’ care for a moment. The boy’s family attended Iglesia La Mision Asamleas de Dios Church in the Village of South Nyack and met Ramos through the church several years earlier.

On the day of the crime, Ramos was driving the church van to help the boy’s mother with a church related errand. The mother left the child with the Ramos while she handled some administrative matters.
