Statement by Barbara Dorris of St. Louis, Outreach Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests ( 314 862 7688 home, 314 503 0003 cell,SNAPdorris@gmail.com )

A young St. Louis priest appears in court today on child porn charges. We beg others who may have seen, suspected or suffered his crimes to call prosecutors as soon as possible.

Sadly, in this case, like so many others, Catholic officials deceive the public and the parishioners. When Fr. William Vatterott was suspended, Archbishop Robert Carlson said he was accused of “inappropriate electronic communication.” In fact, he has been criminally charged with child pornography.

He is, in fact, the ninth local priest to face child pornography allegations.
