The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse has received more than 40 submissions on its fifth issues paper, on civil litigation.

Submissions were received from a range of individuals and organisations, including Children’s Commissioners, legal experts, welfare and victim support groups, religious organisations and non-government organisations.

Royal Commission CEO Janette Dines said the Royal Commission was pleased with the level of feedback from the community in response to the Issues Paper.

“The Royal Commission received submissions from a range of organisations across Australia examining the effectiveness of civil litigation as one mechanism for providing redress, and possible reforms to improve civil litigation systems,” Ms Dines said.
