John “Champ” Quinata details the night his older brother Joseph “Sonny” Quinata was allegedly molested by Archbishop Anthony Apuron. Champ was only 8 years old when he recalls Sonny came home from Apuron’s house. Sonny said he was touched by Apuron and that he was in pain.

The boys were both altar boys at Mt Carmel Parish where Apuron was a priest at the time. The boys tried to tell others what had happened, but no one listened.

Today, at the public hearing for a substituted version of Bill 326 which lifts the statute of limitations for child sex crimes, Champ said “Finally, people are listening.”
