Hotline Set up for Priest Abuse Victims

RIDGELAND, S.C. (WSAV) – A former Catholic priest from Savannah who is charged with nine counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor appeared in court today.

Wayland Brown, 74, appeared briefly today to waive his right to bond. In addition, he waived the reading of the indictment in open court.

Brown will stay in Jasper County jail until his trial.

He is accused of sexually abusing two school-aged boys in the late 1970s and 1980s in various places in Jasper County.
