A Perry County LifeWise volunteer was immediately removed from the program after he was arrested in connection with the rape of a minor, one of three former Ohio LifeWise affiliates charged with sex crimes against a minor in the last six weeks.
Northern Local LifeWise chapter volunteer William VanSickle was arrested in mid-April and pleaded guilty to one count of rape and two counts of sexual battery against a minor. LifeWise, a religious release program that legally provides public school students with biblical education off-campus during the school day, said VanSickle was immediately removed from his position once the Hilliard-based organization learned of his crimes.
Just weeks after VanSickle’s arrest, Muskingum County pastor and former LifeWise teacher Christopher Riggs pleaded guilty to voyeurism and gross sexual imposition, also with a minor victim.
On Wednesday, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office said it received multiple rape complaints from minors about Kenneth E. Holycross, who worked at Dayton Children’s Hospital and had also previously been a LifeWise teacher.
