Following the performance on Sunday 5/31, BA co-director Anne Barrett Doyle will participate in a “talk back” session with Jay and Teresa Dinwiddie-Herrmann of Greater Cincinnati VOTF and Ohioans for Child Protection.]

Greater Cincinnati VOTF invites and encourages you to join us in welcoming Jay Sefton and his play “Unreconciled” to Cincinnati. Jay will be performing his award-winning play at the First Lutheran Church, 1208 Race Street, as part of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. There are five performance dates scheduled:

Jay Sefton is a courageous and talented survivor of clerical abuse. His show has traveled from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania to Los Angeles and across the Atlantic to Ireland. Greater Cincinnati VOTF is pleased to welcome and support Jay and his one-person play “Unreconciled” here in Ohio. The play reflects the impact and challenges of addressing sexual abuse trauma for the victim, the family and the community.

Greater Cincinnati VOTF will host a follow-up Q and A talkback session immediately following the May 31st performance.

Artist Bio

Jay Sefton is an actor and licensed mental health counselor, originally from Philadelphia, and currently based in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Jay is the recipient of the Berkshire Theatre Critics Association Award for Outstanding Solo Performance for Unreconciled, which also won Outstanding World Premiere of a New Play in 2024. The Executive Director of The Unreconciled Project, he was honored for his work with survivors by CHILD USA with the Sean P. McIlmail Hero Award in 2025.
