After a two-day trial, a Marion County judge found Christopher Seibert not guilty on all five counts. Seibert was formerly vice principal at Regis St. Mary.
A former Stayton vice principal accused last year of sexually abusing a student has been acquitted of all charges following a bench trial before a Marion County judge.
Police arrested Christopher Seibert in July 2025 after a grand jury indicted him on four counts of first-degree sex abuse and one count of second-degree unlawful sexual penetration.
According to the charging documents, a student under the age of 14 accused Seibert of sex abuse alleged to have occurred between 2022 and 2023, when he was a vice principal at Regis St. Mary Catholic School in Stayton. At the time of the report, Seibert was working at St. Joseph Catholic School in Salem.
Seibert chose to waive his right to a jury trial, preferring a bench trial before Marion County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Hart. That trial began Aug. 3 and ran for two days; on Wednesday, the judge found Seibert not guilty on all counts.
