Fort Worth Report [Fort Worth, TX]

A second woman is suing an Arlington church and its leader over allegations that the leader groomed and sexually assaulted her last year, according to Dallas County court records.
The woman alleges in the suit that Koinonia Christian Church lead pastor Ronnie Goines assaulted her on two occasions: once at his Mansfield home last August and again in September at her home.
Goines and the woman met at a Dallas restaurant that June, according to the lawsuit. At that time, the woman told Goines that she was only interested in a platonic relationship, to which Goines was “amenable,” her attorneys wrote.
Goines and the woman continued communicating after their initial meeting and he provided her with business and professional contacts.
At one point, Goines told the woman that he believed “God was guiding her to him and that their interactions were God’s plan,” the suit reads. For that, the woman alleges that Goines abused his role as a spiritual guide.
Goines’ Koinonia Christian Church is also named in the suit, which accuses the church of negligent hiring, supervision and retention.
The church, attorneys wrote, breached its duty to those acts because it was aware of the pastor’s prior conduct: earlier in 2025, he was sued by another woman who claimed he also sexually assaulted her on two occasions in 2023.
Criminal charges tied to the 2023 incidents were later dropped, and the plaintiff in that suit later agreed to settle the case without a trial.
“I discovered what I did wrong the first time is that I was silent,” Goines said in a video posted to the church’s Facebook page Friday morning. “What that did was, it left our people vulnerable for the lies that are out there.”
Goines then read a statement prepared by his attorneys in which he admitted to having had a past sexual relationship, but said the relationship was “the extent of anything improper I have done.”
“I have never in my life done what this woman is accusing me of,” Goines said.
Attorneys for the woman could not immediately be reached for comment Friday morning.
