Per the 1987 Official Catholic Directory (which reflects 1986-1987), Carden was absent on sick leave and working at a parish in Pueblo, CO. He is not indexed or listed in the 1984 or 1986 Directories. He appears to have remained active in parishes in the Diocese of Pueblo until his death in 2008. Named publicly as accused by the New York Archdiocese on its list 4/26/2019, which notes that he was removed from ministry.
