Fr. Leonard F. Stanton

Ordained for the Archdiocese of Boston. Transferred to the Diocese of Sioux Falls SD in 1946, where he had long career and leadership positions, including Director of Catholic Boy Scouts. Died 4/3/1997. One of 12 priests named as abusers in a 9/2002 civil lawsuit filed by 27 plaintiffs. The Archdiocese was accused of cover-up. Included on the Sioux Falls Diocese’s list in 3/2019, which notes that Stanton’s faculties were removed 4/1993.
