Fr. Gregory W. Tipton
Named as a perpetrator of child sexual abuse in a 5/2019 proof of claim form in the Archdiocese’s bankruptcy. His accuser said that Tipton abused him 1985-1987 when he was an altar boy, ages 10-12, at St. Gertrude’s in Moro, NM, and that he was also abused by a Deacon Karl, and by Fr. Michael P. O’Brien at ages 8-10, 1983-1985. He said that O’Brien “passed him on” to Tipton and Deacon Karl.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
