A local pastor and school employee was arrested for alleged sex crimes against minors.

Court filings show Christopher Walter, 52, of Deshler, is charged with grooming and “sexual battery: victim is a minor, offender is a peace officer two or more years older than victim.”

Administrators with Patrick Henry Local Schools confirmed Walter was an employee with the district, working as a bus driver. He was suspended without pay.

A statement from the school district said they will not comment further as the matter is a legal and personnel issue.

Walter is also listed online as the Lead Pastor for Immanuel Lutheran Church.

13 Action News reached out to Deshler Police for more information about the case. A statement from the department said no additional information is being released currently.

He was booked into CCNO on June 2, court records show. He was in court on June 3 where a judge set a $30,000 bond with 10% allowed.
