Br. Maur Anthony Burbach
Burbach was accused of sexually abusing several members of a parish beginning in the 1960s. Affiliated with Pecos Benedictine Monastery. Two civil suits were filed in 1994. His name was included on the Santa Fe archdiocese’s list of accused on 9/12/2017, name spelled ‘Marr.’ Br. Maur Burbach’s name was included on the St. Benedict Abbey of Benet Lake WI list on 1/24/2023. Noted to have made vows in 1960, abused in NM in the 1960s, to have been dismissed from religious life in 1970 and to have died in 2019. (There was a Rev. Maur Burbach, O.S.B. who was ordained in 1940 died in 1982.)
